  • Reserve your tour 30+ days before your requested date.
  • 1 adult per 15 K-12 students required at all times.
  • Groups over 12 may be split into sub-groups on-site.
  • Tours run rain or shine – it’s always 68°F in the cave!
  • You will be walking or standing for approximately 90 minutes.
  • Due to the historic nature of Longhorn Cavern State Park, visitor facilities and cavern walkways are not wheelchair accessible.
  • There are 52 stone steps down to the cavern entrance and back up again.
  • Depending on guest height, ducking may be required at several points on the tour. The two lowest points along the tour route are 4′ 4″ and 4′ 8″.
  • Most tours include a brief lights-out demonstration.
  • Dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes with good traction.
  • Cavern temperatures range up to 68° Fahrenheit / 20° Celsius year-round.
  • Buses, vans, and other group transportation must use designated parking and loading/unloading zones. Park staff are there to help.
  • Please check in at the ticket counter inside the Visitor Center at least 30 minutes before your tour. Bring your booking confirmation to receive your paid tickets.
  • There are no restrooms in the cavern! (Don’t worry, we remind everyone to visit the restrooms in the Visitor Center before the tour.)
  • Aside from unflavored water, there is no food or drink allowed in the cavern.
  • Only trained service animals as defined by the ADA are permitted to enter the cavern or park buildings.

Tax-exempt groups must provide a valid Texas Sales & Use Tax Exemption Certificate at the time of booking or tax will be added to the invoice.

The name on the method of payment must match the name listed on the top of the certificate.

A blank PDF certificate can be downloaded from the Texas Comptroller.

  • Additional adults who are not part of the confirmed group booking will receive the discounted group rate plus tax but are not guaranteed placement on the group tour. Admittance is at management discretion, subject to tour capacity.
  • In the event the group tour is at capacity, additional adults who are not part of the confirmed group booking will be offered a place on the next available regular walking tour.

7 days before your tour date, we will call and email you to confirm. If we can’t reach you, the original number will be confirmed. No additions or refunds can be made after the 7-day confirmation.

Receive a full refund of the deposit for bookings canceled 14 or more days before the confirmed date.

Cancellations 7 to 13 days before your confirmed date will receive a deposit refund less 20% of the total booking price.

If you need to cancel less than 7 days before the confirmed date, either 1) the entire deposit is forfeit or 2) you can reschedule at no additional charge (subject to availability).

  • The Wild Cave Tour consists of narrow passages. For safety reasons, guests over 52″ in girth (shoulders, hips, etc.) may not participate.

  • Long-sleeved shirt
  • Long pants
